Case study / Enterprise software

Complex sustainability software needed a story buyers would remember.

Sphera needed a product explainer that could cut through a crowded enterprise software market and make a sophisticated sustainability platform feel clear, specific, and memorable. Even with an internal video team, Sphera brought in Liquid GTM for a specialized 2D software story built around a hypothetical organization using the platform successfully.

01 / The challenge

The market noise was part of the problem.

Sphera sells into organizations where product value has to make sense across several audiences at once. Executives need to understand strategic relevance. Sustainability leaders need language that connects operations, reporting, risk, and progress. Technical stakeholders need enough specificity to trust that the platform can support real work. A generic product video would not carry that weight.

The market problem was also attention. Sustainability software buyers see a lot of similar claims: dashboards, reporting, compliance, workflow, visibility, performance. Sphera needed a story that could cut through that noise without relying on vague category language. The video had to make the platform feel distinct, clear, and serious enough for enterprise buyers who already understand that the problem is complicated.

Sphera also had its own internal video capability, which made the assignment more specific. This was not a case of needing production support because no one could make a video. The project called for a specialized outside creative approach: a product story with enough narrative shape to make the platform memorable, enough restraint to avoid overexplaining, and enough polish to resonate with the audiences Sphera cared about most.

02 / The approach

We built the explainer around a company using the platform, not around the interface alone.

Liquid GTM shaped the video as a 2D software story about a hypothetical organization using Sphera successfully. That choice gave the piece a practical arc. A viewer can follow the organization, understand the pressures it faces, and see how the platform fits into the work instead of being asked to absorb a sequence of disconnected UI moments.

The creative decision was built for clarity and distinction. Motion, voiceover, visual pacing, and simplified scenes carried the message from complexity to understanding. Instead of asking the audience to decode every feature, the video shows Sphera as part of a larger operating environment: teams managing sustainability information, making decisions, and communicating progress with confidence.

That structure helped the work feel different in a market full of dense enterprise software explainers. The video does not flatten Sphera into a list of capabilities. It gives buyers a story they can remember, sales teams a cleaner way to introduce the platform, and internal stakeholders a piece of content that reflects the seriousness of the category.

03 / The outcome

A product story that resonated because it did not feel generic.

The finished product explainer gave Sphera a polished buyer-facing asset that turned complex product and sustainability messaging into a clear narrative. The video kept attention on the organization’s journey, so the platform value landed through context instead of abstract claims.

That mattered because Sphera did not need another product walkthrough. It needed content that could make the market stop and understand the story differently. Lisa Agona later described the work as resonating with Sphera’s most important audiences, which is the point of a specialized product story in a crowded category: the message becomes easier to remember, easier to share, and easier to trust.

The Sphera explainer made a sophisticated enterprise platform easier to introduce without making it feel smaller. It gave marketing, sales, and leadership teams a concrete way to show the product’s value: not as a long list of features, but as a software story with a recognizable problem, a clear path through the platform, and a memorable outcome.
